This is my sisters' hands Gillian Rowlands, who is a Radiology Orderly in Warrington Hospital. I used NSI French Tips and NSI Attraction Acrylic liquid and powder system, which takes 1hr 1/2 approx to complete.
NSI ACRYLIC SYSTEM OVERLAYS.
1. Wash hands with soap and water. Thoroughly dry hands, fingers and nails to eliminate
moisture, which could cause mould and/or fungus.
2. Remove polish and all foreign substances from the nail.
3. Push back cuticles using the bevelled end of an orangewood stick.
4. Using the white block, gently file over the entire nail plate to remove natural shine and
oil. Do not use a coarse abrasive or apply extreme pressure to prevent damaging the nail.
5. Using a cotton wool ball and NSI NAIL PREP, cleanse and disinfect nails and
cuticles as a final preparation for tip application. The use of an antiseptic for proper sanitation
is a must.
6. Select the proper size tip for each finger. The propersize tip will completely cover the nail
plate form sidewall to sidewall. If a proper size is not possible, select the next biggest and file
the sides to achieve correct fit. All millenium tips are numbered to make this procedure
simpler and faster. Lay out all 10 tips which you will be using before moving onto the next
step.
7. File and shape the free edge of natural nail so it fits snugly into the 'well area' of the tip
selected for that finger. This will ensure a natural appearance as well as most thorough
adhesion.
8. Working with one finger at a time, apply nail glue to the 'well area' of nail tip. Slide tip onto
nail at a 45 degree angle until the well area joint hits the free edge of natural nail. Press firmly
for 10 seconds to ensure a secure fit. It is imperative to check for white spots or air bubbles
in the bonding area. If they are present, the tip must be re-applied.
9. Using a NSI NAIL CUTTER, trim nail tip to desired length and shape. It is possible
to acheive various free edge shapes using the cutter at different angles.
10. To eliminate the seam or ridge where the tip meets the natural nails, use NSI
TIP BLENDER brush on a horizontal line of TIP BLENDER along the seam side. When
filing, always hold the file against the nail. If you file at an angle, it may cause a groove and
damage to the natural nail plate.
11. Use the white block to completely remove any visible lines or cloudiness in the ridge or
bonding area.
12. Use the coarse side of file to precisely shape the free edge to achieve the desired look.
13. Repeat the same procedure on all remaining fingers.
14. Apply NSI PRIMER- Brush on sparingly, but be sure to apply to entire nail
without getting any on the cuticle or skin. Allow primer to dry on nail to chalky white.
15. Pour ACRYLIC LIQUID and ACRYLIC POWDER into a DAPPEN DISH. Pour only a small
amount of each product to avoid any wastage.
16. Dip sable brush fully into the liquid and wipe on the edge of the Dappen Dish to remove
excess liquid.
17. Dip only the tip of the sable brush into the acrylic powder and rotate slightly. You will pick
up a small 'pea size' ball of powder of medium/dry consistency that is large enough for
shaping the entire free edge extension. This will usually be WHITE to achieve a French
manicure appearance.
18. Pat and press the acrylic material to shape your new nail extension. Do not brush the
material during this step as it will result in an unnatural looking nail. Keep sidewall lines
parallel and shape acrylic continuously along the free edge line.
19. Pick up a second ball of acrylic material of medium consistency on the natural nail next to
the free edge line of nail. This will usually be PINK to acieve a french manicure appearance.
Again dab and press to sidewalls making sure the product is very thin around all edges.
20. Pick up a third application of acrylic material. The third application should be primarily
liquid with minimal amount of powder. Place at back cuticle area and smooth out over the
entire nail plate. Glide brush over nail to smooth out imperfections. The acrylic appearance
near cuticle, sidewall and free edge should be extremely thin for a natural looking nail.
Furthermore, acrylic liquid applied too thickly near cuticle may cause the new nail to lift.
21. When the acrylic nail is thoroughly dry, file to shape the free edge and remove any
imperfections. Glide brush over entire nail with long sweeping strokes to further shape and
perfect the nail surface. Try to make nails thinner towards the cuticle, free edge and
sidewalls for most natural appearance.
22. Smooth and finish- using the white block, smooth your new nail until the nail surface is
uniform, then buff.
23. Repeat the same procedure on the remaining fingers. When all nails are complete, finish the
procedure by applying NSI NAIL & CUTICLE OIL to nails, cuticles and
surrounding skin. Your beautiful new acrylic nails can be worn natural, or with your
favourite shade of NSI PROFESSIONAL NAIL COLOUR.
